Some tips I’ve learned this week.
Using a potato masher will help make thicker chili – mash the beans to allow the starches within into the cooking water blend.
Put 1 cup of cooked rice and 1/2 cup of water into your roasting pan when making turkey – the turkey flavors the rice and the rice starch seals in the juices.
Apple juice makes a natural meat tenderizer and tastes great with most meats.
Place a wooden spoon across the top of a pot of rice or soup to keep it from boiling over.
Cut hash marks into steaks, hamburgers or tuna steaks to allow the meat to cook through more quickly.
Arrange food into a ring on plate when microwaving for more even warming.
Make peanut butter cookies, oreo cake, mini omelets and more in a muffin tin.
